Role summary

Join the Consumer Council for Water (CCW) as a Wales Board Member.
Help improve water services for people in Wales.
Lead and guide the work of CCW across Wales.
Attend meetings in Cardiff and sometimes travel to Birmingham.
Work about 4 days each month for 4 years.

Key tasks

Help decide the future plans of CCW.
Make sure Welsh laws and rules are considered by the Board.
Lead the Wales Committee and speak up for Welsh consumers.
Build good relationships with important people in Wales.
Represent CCW at meetings and in public events.
Make sure CCW supports Welsh Government aims.
Check that CCW works well and meets its goals.

Skills and experience

Senior experience in private, public or voluntary work is needed.
You do not have to be an expert in water services.
You should care about helping consumers and making services better.
Good skills in thinking and planning are important.
You must work well in a Board and speak up respectfully.
Being good at building relationships is key.
Knowing about water services, public money, or speaking Welsh is a plus.

Pay and hours

Work about 4 days a month.
Term lasts 4 years.

Location and workplace

Based in Cardiff.
Travel to Birmingham and other places for some meetings.
